Abstract
Cercospora sp. can grow and reproduce on media that simulates pod tissue, thus supporting evidence of direct infection on pods. This study aims to analyze the differences in the intensity of frogeye leaf spot disease attacks and the yield of edamame plants between conventional cultivation systems and semi-organic cultivation systems. The study was carried out using a field comparison method with two treatments, namely T0 (conventional) with full inorganic fertilization and T1 (semi-organic) with 50% inorganic fertilization supplemented with PGPR and amino acids. The observed parameters included the intensity of frogeye leaf spot disease attacks, the number of pods per plant, the weight of pods per plant, and pod classification. Data were analyzed using the Independent Samples t-test for disease intensity, number of pods, and pod weight, while pod classification was analyzed using the Mann–Whitney test. The research results show that the semi-organic cultivation system can reduce the intensity of doreng disease attacks to 6.58%, which is lower than the conventional system at 10.82%. In addition, the semi-organic system also increases the number of pods per plant from 36.04 to 42.48 pods and the pod weight per plant from 88.02 g to 101.93 g. In pod classification, the semi-organic system decreases the percentage of empty pods and increases the percentage of pods with three seeds. So, the semi-organic cultivation system has proven to be more effective in controlling doreng disease and improving edamame yields.
