Abstract

Diarrhea is one of the health problems that still often occurs in children under five and is a fairly high cause of pain and death. Mothers' lack of knowledge about diarrhea prevention and the use of less interesting educational media cause health information to not be delivered optimally. Therefore, there is a need for educational media that is more innovative and in accordance with the characteristics of the target, one of which is through animated video media. This research aims to design an animated video media as an educational medium for diarrhea prevention in toddlers in Karangrejo Village. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method using a 4D development model which includes the define, design, development, and disseminate stages. The subjects in this study are mothers who have children under five who were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire using a likert scale to assess the feasibility and acceptability of the developed media. The results of the validation of material experts obtained a percentage of 96% with a very feasible category, the results of the validation of media experts obtained a percentage of 100% with a very feasible category. The results of the small group acceptance trial with 10 respondents obtained a percentage of 90.14% with the very accepted category, and the results of the acceptance trial in a large group with 92 respondents obtained a percentage of 95.9% with the very accepted category. Based on the results of the assessment, the animated video media developed was declared feasible and had excellent acceptance as an educational medium for the prevention of diarrhea in toddlers
