Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of using red amaranth (Amaranthus tricolor) on the growth of koi carp (Cyprinus carpio). This research used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely P0 = 0%, P1 = 1%, P2 = P3 = 2% and 3%. The parameters of this research included the specific growth rate, feed conversion, survival rate and water quality. The results showed that the specific growth rate of koi carp didn’t affacted by levels red spinach meal (Fcalculated <Ftable 5%) with each value P0 = 0.67% / day, P1 = 0.67% / day, P2 = 1.19% / day and P3 = 1.07% / day and didn’t significantly affect (Fcalculated <Ftable 5%) of water quality, but highly significant effect (Fcalculated > Ftable 1%) the survival rate with each value P0 = 80%, P1 = 87%, P2 = 100%, P3 = 100% and significantly (Fcalculated > Ftable 5%) for feed conversion with the results of each = 8.375 respectively P0, P1 = 7.972, P2 = 4.900 and P3 = 4.986.
