Abstract

This final project “Designing Vocabulary Tutorial Animation Video for the First Semester Students of English Study Program Politeknik Negeri Jember” is dedicated to the first semester students of English Study Program, Politeknik Negeri Jember. This project was made because I had found that in teaching – learning process of Vocabulary subject only used student’s workbook (BKPM), PowerPoint media, some pictures and dictionary. There was no additional media to support the students in mastering vocabulary. Therefore, I created an interesting media in the form of tutorial animation video for teaching- learning process in vocabulary class. In this case, I focused on the second chapter of video, which is learning vocabulary by using context clues 1. The content of the video consist of the opening, tutorial materials, exercises, and closing. The students could determine the meaning of words by using the available clues in the sentences. The writer designed the material that was completed with the instructions in using context clues 1 technique and it was played by animation character and my voice which are shown at the same time. I got a good response from the students of English Study Program Politeknik Negeri Jember. They felt interested to use my product in learning process of vocabulary. Moreover, I can apply my knowledge skill such as writing, speaking and computer subject. I have the suggestion to the students of English Study Program to make tutorial video project for English Study Program because it is not only beneficial for the creator but also for students of English Study Program Politeknik Negeri Jember.
