Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to increase the weight of goat peranakan etawah by feeding additional silage of cassava leaves biomass and to know the shelf life of cassava leaves biomass silage to handle the problem of dumping of cassava plant waste. With the duration of maintenance for 2 months, the livestock used Etawah (PE) Peranakan type of 4 head of age + 7 months with initial weight average 17,55 kg, using colony enclosure by giving 2 types of feed that is 70% elephant grass and 30 % silage biomass of cassava leaves, Adi-libitum drinking. The results showed that the average consumption of fresh feed was 1,314.25 g / head / day, while the average consumption of dry matter was 315.60 g / head / day, so the average weight gain was 30.61 g / head / day. Analysis of sheep breeding business obtained revenue of Rp. 295.000 so that this independent business project is feasible to be developed.
