Abstract

Designing Tourism Guidebook Bilingual Version entitled “Marvellous Potential Natural Tourism Object of Besuki Residency” (Solor Stonehenge) is my Final Project. This project was done based on preliminary study that the writer conducted in Tourism and Culture Department of Bondowoso. It found that several tourism aspects in Bondowoso was not developed, handled and promoted as well. This project focused on designing a tourism guidebook in bilingual version which can help the tourism department to promote their product. For that reason, I made a tourism guidebook with the newest design, concept and provided more detail information about natural tourism object in Bondowoso. All detail informations was writen in two languages, Bahasa Indonesia and English. It was because the visitors of tourism objects in Bondowoso regency were domestic and foreign tourists. So, the writer designed the tourism guidebook using bilingual version. The writer translated the content and product using three method, there were Word-for-word translation method, Literal Translation method and Semantic translation method. The writer found the unexposed tourism object of Betoh So’on Solor in Bondowoso Regency that become my focused discussion in this final project. In making this product, I adapted the procedure of making guidebook from Aprilia (2009) into 6 steps. There were Deciding the idea, Outlining the book, Writing the book, Designing lay-out, Revising, and Binding. In conducting this final project, I applied writing skills that I got in English Study Program. I also got new knowledge and experiences in making guidebook. I do hope this guidebook can help the tourist to know about Potential Natural Tourism Object in Bondowoso Regency Solor Stonehenge.
