Abstract

An important period in the growth and development of children is the toddler years, because at this time is the basic growth phase that will influence and determine the next child development. A good nutritional status plays an important role in helping gross motor development of children. Parenting parents about child nutrition greatly help children achieve and past growth and developments in accordance with the normal age levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of parenting mother with a child's nutritional status and gross motor development of children aged 1-3 years in the Desa Tembokrejo Kecamatan Gumukmas Kabupaten Jember. Data were collected by using questionnaires and interviews. Respondents were 83 mothers with children aged 1-3 years using the technique of random sampling startifed. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of parenting mother with Spearman's status. From the results of the bivariate statistical analysis of 83 respondents have sufficient parenting attitudes and nutritional status were classified as normal as much as 91.6% (76 respondents). In the development of appropriate motor that is 80 people (96.4%) while the remaining 3 children (4.5%) is doubtful. In the category of nutritional status and gross motor development are the value of gross motor development suite 80 people (96.4%), 3 children (3.6%) is doubtful. The results of the analysis using Spearman's rank correlation showed a significant relationship exists between maternal parenting style on the nutritional status of children, there is no relationship between parenting mother with motor development, there is no relationship between the nutritional status of children with gross motor skills of children.
