Abstract

Silo subdistrict has ranked first in the IMR, the major cases are occur in area of Silo 1 Primary Health Center. In 2013, there are 18 cases of infant mortality in 2015. One of efforts to reduce the infant mortality case can be done by looking at the document record in medical records to determine the appropriate steps in decreasing the cases. This study aims to analyze the causes of infant mortality based on the review of medical records in Silo 1 Primary Health Center Period 2013- 2015. The type of research is qualitative. Data collection techniques is by observation, documentation and interview. The results of the study are the causes of infant mortality that was examined from the factor (condition) of the baby in Silo 1 Primary Health Center with neonatal tetanus that caused non strerile in process of cutting and inappropriate of caring level and LBW, from the maternal factor as the cause of infant mortality namely low education with less knowledge of the pregnancy care in the health care service facilities, and the confinement rescuer factor of 3 medical record file, 2 of them ask for help to midwife. The conclusion of the study is the cause of infant mortality in Silo 1 Primary Health Center seen from infants factors include the mothers condition of infants with neonatal tetanus and LBW, maternal factors include the mothers condition with low education who has less knowledge related to the importance of antenanal care sercive (ANC), the rescuer still uses traditional midwife service and the place of birth has not been fully done by the health care service facilities
