Abstract

Assessing the efficiency of bed utilization by four indicators of hospitalization is insufficient. Those four indicators can be presentated in a graphic known as Barber Johnson. The purpose of this Research is to analyze the efficiency of bed utilization in Jember Klinik PT Perkebunan Nusantara X Hospital 2019 by using Barber Johnson Graphic. This research is mix method. The informants in this Research were 3 people which the head of medical records, the reporting officer and the head of the ward. The calculation results indicated the ideal BOR value was in Bougenville room while those that were not ideal were in Catlea, Anthurium 1, Anthurium 2, Anthurium 3, GMC, ICU and delivery room. The ideal LOS value found in all hospital room. The ideal TOI value was in Bougenville room while those that were not ideal were in Catlea, Anthurium 1, Anthurium 2, Anthurium 3, GMC, ICU and delivery room. The BTO value is not ideal found in all hospital room. The efficient of bed utilization in Jember Hospital clinic 2019 was in Bougenville room while those that were not ideal were in Catlea, Anthurium 1, Anthurium 2, Anthurium 3, GMC, ICU and delivery room. The appropriate solution to overcome this problem is to monitorize the bed utilization efficiency attainment periodically using Barber Johnson graphic, cross-swap the number of beds between efficient and insufficient room, making SOP sheet for daily census and calculation of hospitalization indicators.
