Abstract

The research aimed to determined the influence of weight of eggs, term of egg incubations and the interaction between weight of eggs and term of egg incubations towards the hatching yield of eggs quail. This research started on July until August 2016, and the location was at the Laboratory of Animal Production of Politeknik Negeri Jember. The method of this research was experimental research which based on Complete Randomized Design (CRD) factorial pattern, the first factor was weight of hatching eggs consisting of three levels, those were B1=9 grams, B2=10 grams, B3=11 grams, the second factor was term of incubations consisting of three levels, which were L1=1 day, L2=3 days, L3=6 days, with repetition at least three times, to obtain twenty seven treatments unit. Data research was processed using Analysis of Varian, if the data showed significant effected result, and then it would process using Least Significant Different (LSD). The result of this research showed that the weight of eggs highly significantly effect (P<0,01) to the weight of quail hatching eggs. The term of incubations highly significantly effect (P<0,01) to the mortality and hatchability of quail eggs. The interaction between weight of eggs and term of incubations resulted significant effect (P<0,05) to the sell fit and proper of DOQ. Conversely, weight of eggs and term of incubations of quail eggs is not significant effect (P>0,05) to the fertility of quail eggs, but fertility of quail eggs which influenced by the treatment of weight of hatching eggs 10 grams resulting average highest data, even though according to the treatment of term of egg incubations showed increasing term of incubations it would causes decreasing fertlity of quail eggs
