Abstract

Destruction is a process of physically removing medical records which function have ended or the usage value are low. This research conducts an analysis of medical record file destruction in Jember General Hospital. Based on the observation, Kaliwates General Hospital do not perform medical records destruction. The purpose of this research is to identify the problems by using five elements of management which are man, money, method, material, and machine. Later, the priority of those problems will be determined by using urgency seriousness growth (USG). This research is a qualitative descriptive. The result of this research is the identification of the problems that occur and also the top priority problem that needs to be resolved as soon as possible. The first priority problem is the inexistence of the team for medical records destruction, the second problem is the double jobs that make officers feel burdened during the implementation and the third problem is the budget for medical records destruction process. To resolve those problems, the writer suggests to form a team for medical records destruction based on the Director Decree which consists of medical records committee/medical committee, medical records senior officer, senior nurse and other related officers, to do constant evaluation and count the workload in order to know the amount of the workload of the officers. And to do budget planning for medical record destruction process.
