Abstract

The medical record is a file that must be kept physically and secrecy by managing the borrowing and returning a good medical record. Implementation of lending activities and the return of medical records file has not met Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Returning the medical records of inpatients borrowed must be returned before 2 x 24 hours to the assembling section after the Hospital Out patient (KRS). This is because the inpatients who neglected in carrying out the return of medical record files. To realize the accuracy of the return of the medical record file and the absence of reminder by the medical recorder to immediately restore the medical record file, so it takes a reminder application addressed to the head of the inpatient room. Therefore, this research aims to make application of borrowing and return medical record by using SMS gateway reminder in hospital medical record unit of Mother and Child Hospital (RSIA) Srikandi IBI Jember. The research used prototype method with Microsoft Visual Foxpro 9.0 programming language. Methods of data collection are interview, observation, documentation and focus group dissussion. The result of this research is the application of borrowing and returning medical record file of patient who has function as well as reminder in the form of messages sent automatically to the head of the inpatient room or the borrower records the patient's medical records. Application of borrowing and return of medical records will facilitate the process of controlling medical record files.
