Abstract
The effort to increase production and quality of cucumber seed is by bud pruning and appropriate dose of SP-36 fertilizer. This research aims to determine the effect of bud pruning and dose of SP-36 fertlizer on the production and quality of cucumber seed. This research was conducted in November 2018 until February 2019 at field of PT. Benih Citra Asia, Ajung Jember Regency, East Java. This research was applied Randomized Block Design with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was bud pruning with 3 levels there were, pruning on 14th segments (P1), pruning on 17th segments (P2), and pruning on 20th segments (P3). The second factor was dose of SP-36 with 3 levels there were dose of 200 kg/ha (S1), dose of 400 kg/ha (S2), and dose of 600 kg/ha (S3). The observation parameters were number of filled out seed per fruit, weight of 1000 seeds, production per hectare and viability. The result of this research shows that bud pruning is non significant for all parameters. The dose of SP-36 fertilizer is significant for viability with value 98,22%. There is no interaction between bud pruning and dose of SP-36 fertilizer to the production and quality of cucumber seed.
