Abstract
As a result of industrial development, transportation facilities, regional expansion and settlement causes noise. Efforts that can be made to overcome these problems can use three to control noise, namely control at the source, control at the medium, and control at the receiver. This research was conducted to reduce the level of noise and heat pollution in the exhaust by combining organic material and synthetic materials (asbestos fibers). This research was carried out in the State Polytechnic Automotive Engineering laboratory in Jember from July 2019 to August 2019. This study used an experimental method. Tests carried out using variations in engine speed on a 4-stroke motorcycle, single cylinder 115 cc with pertalite fuel. measurement of the noise level and the temperature of the exhaust silencer using the Environment Meter krisbow brand and thermo coupling brand mastech. Based on the results of the study showed the highest percentage of exhaust noise level reduction was achieved by the prototype treatment of coconut fibers - synthetic - coconut fibers against the standard exhaust at 1,500 engine speeds which is 4.6% and freeflow mufflers at 1,500 rpm engine speed ie 12.70%. Heat damper occurs in the prototype treatment with the composition of coconut fibers - synthetic - coconut fibers that is from 9.27 0C / minute to 5.71 0C / minute
