Abstract

Research on the effect of coconut water concentration on the growth of pepper cuttings (Piper nigrum Linnaeus) was carried out on 9th September until 30th December 2018 in the nursery of the State Polytechnic of Jember. This study used a non factorial randomized block design with four treatments, namely 0% coconut water concentration, 25% coconut water concentration, 50% coconut water concentration, and 75% coconut water concentration. The cuttings used are short cuttings that use 1 segment that comes from climbing tendrils. Observation parameters were percentage of live cuttings, percentage of cuttings, shoot length, number of segments, number of roots, root length, seed wet weight and seed dry weight. The results showed significantly different for all parameters.
