Abstract

Cucumber has a high demand in Indonesia. To fulfill that, we need to maximization production using good seed quality. This research was started from July to October 2019, located in Seputih Village, Kec. Mayang Kab. Jember, a partner of PT East West Seed Indonesia, aims to determine the time of pollination and the number of branches that can optimize production and quality of cucumber seeds. This research was conducted using a factorial randomized complete block design (RCBD) with four replications. The results showed that the pollination time had a significant effect on all parameters except for the stem diameter, fruit weight, and 1000 grain weight. Maintenance of the amount of branches did not significantly affect all parameters, but there was an interaction between pollination time and maintenance of the amount of branches which had a significant effect on the parameters of seed weight per fruit (grams), seed weight per plant (grams) and seed weight per hectare (kg).
