Abstract

This maturity identification of plum tomato using the fruit of plum tomato (lycopersium commune) then the picture of tomato is taken from up and bottom as the input with white and light background and the same distance, the colour become one of the most important characteristics from the fruit. Maturity identification in tomato is seen by colour. Using histogram method, vertical rule show observation every classes, histogram method in tomato is a physiological respon and different intensity of colour perception inside image processing. It depends on three (3) factors, they are spectral reflectance, spectral content, and spectral response. Spectral reflectance to determine the interface reflects colour, spectral content is content from colour that light the interface, and spectral response is the colour response abilty in system imaging. And then histogram wil show up in red, green, blue colours. Tomato fruit classified by good tomato and bad tomato, and the maturity is classified by cooked and less cooked and uncooked. After all that process the result of fruit image will show up
