Abstract

This research aims to determine optimalization pollination time and time of pollen storage on fruit and seed formation in chili breeding. This research was conducted on October 2018 to Januari 2019 in PT. BISI International Tbk. It was applied Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was pollination time with 3 levels, there were 07.00-09.00 o’clock (W1), 10.00-12.00 o’clock (W2), and 13.00-15.00 o’clock (W3). The second factor was time of pollen storage with 3 levels, there were not storage/0 day (P1), 7 days (P2), and 14 days (P3). The result of this research shows that interaction between pollination time at 07.00-09.00 o’clock and not storage/0 day (W1P1) is able to produce percent of fruit up to 98%, weight of fruit 2,08 grams, lenght of fruit 5,57 cm, diameter of fruit 0,99 cm, number of filled out seed per fruit 63,42 seeds and weight of filled out seed 261,67 miligrams.
