Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of young coconut water concentration and duration of soaking on viability and vigor of expired chili seed (Capsicum annum L.). This research was conducted at CV. Multi Global Agrindo Solo, Karangpandan, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. This research was conducted in October 2018 to November 2018.. it was applied Completely Randomized Design with 2 factors and 4 replications. The first factor was concentration of young coconut water consisted 3 levels 10% (K1), 15% (K2) and 20% (K3). The second factor was duration of soajing consisted 3 levels, 3 hours (L1), 6 hours (L2) and 9 hours (L3). The data was analyzed by f Test (ANOVA) and followed by DMRT 5% and 1%. The parameters were growth speed, growth simultaneously, viability, and maximum growth potential. The result of this research shows that concentration of coconut water is non significant for all parameters. Duration of soaking is non significant on growth speed whereas it is significant on viability, growth simultaneously, and maximum growth potential. Duration of soaking 6 hours (L2) is the most efficient time on seed viability and maximum growth potential.
