Abstract

The medium for seed quality testing usually use filter paper, cd paper or newspaper and paper straw. Then the condition of incubation usually use constant temperature and temperature change. This research aims to investigate the efective medium and and incubation temperature for rice seed quality testing. This research conducted in October until December 2018 at Quality Test Laboratory of Indonesian Centre for Rice Research (ICRR), Subang. It was applied Completely Randomized Design with 2 factors and 4 replications. The first factor was germination medium with 3 levels, there were filter paper (M1), newspaper (M2) and paper straw (M3). The second factor was incubation room with 2 levels, there were constant temperature 25˚C (I1) and temperature change 30˚C for 8 hours - 20˚C for 16 hours (I2). The data was analyzed by f test (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) 5%. The result of this research show that paper straw is the best germination medium. Incubation room temperature is significant for simultaneity growth but non significant for viability and AAT vigor. The best incubation room temperature is constant temperature 25 ˚C. the interaction between paper straw germination medium and constant room temperature 25 ˚C is the best on simultaneity growth with value 45%.
