Abstract

One effort to increase production and quality of eggplant seed is by using giving fertilizer packages and time of curing. This research aims to determine effect of giving fertilizer packages and curing time on production and quality of eggplant seed. This research was conducted in September 2018 until February 2019 at field Seed Stock and laboratory of PT. Aditya Sentana Agro Malang, Zentana way, Krajan, Ngijo, Karangploso, Malang Regency, East Java. This research was applied Randomized Block Design with 2 factors and 3 replication. The first factor was giving fertilizer packages with 4 levels the were, 40 gr KCl/plant : 20 gr SP-36/plant (P1), 40 gr KCl/plant : 40 gr SP-36/plant (P2), 80 gr KCl/plant : 20 gr SP-36/plant (P3), and 16 gr KNO3 white/plant : 8 gr KCl/plant : 8 gr MKP/plant (P4). The second factor was curing time with 3 levels there ware, without curing (C1), 3 days curing (P2), 6 days curing (P3). The observation parameters were fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit weight, persentage of total seeds per fruit, seeds weight per fruit, weight of 100 seeds, production per hectare, seed germination, speed of growing seeds. The result of this research shows that giving fertilizer packages is significant for persentage of total seeds per fruit with value 97,39%, weight of 100 seeds with value 0,614 gram, and production per hectare with value 0,68 quintal/hectare. The curing time is very significant for persentage of total pithy seeds per fruit with value 96,57%. There is interaction between giving fertilizer packages and curing time is very significant for persentage of total pithy seeds per fruit with value 97,57%.
