Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect of interaction between MS media concentration with the addition of organic matter, single factor MS media concentration and single factor organic material on the growth of stevia (Stevia rebaudiana B.) shoots in vitro. The method used in this research is a completely randomized factorial design consisting of 2 factors. Factors I is MS media concentration ( ½ MS and 1 MS (full MS)). Factor II is addition of organic matters (without organic matter, 150 ml corn extract, 150 ml been sprout extract and 150 ml coconut water). The results showed that the interaction between MS media concentration with the addition of different organic matters was not significant to the current parameters of shoots, shoot height, number of sections, root length and number of shoots. The single factors of the best MS media concentration in the ½ MS treatment that is very significant in the root length parameter. The single factor of the best MS media concentration is also on the ½ MS treatment that is significantly different in buds present parameters, shoot height and number of sections. The single factor adding the best organic materials to the treatment with the addition of coconut water is significantly different from the root length parameter. The single factor of addition of the best organic materials also on coconut water treatment was significantly different in the parameters of shoot height and number of shoots.
