Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted the mosquito Aedes aegypti. In East Java included in the top 10 dengue disease hospitalizations in 2010. From 2011 the incidence of dengue in RSD Dr. Haryoto Lumajang constantly increasing.The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of patients with DHF study is based inpatient medical record file in RSD Dr. Haryoto Lumajang. This type of research is descriptive with a sample of 66 medis.Hasil record file of the study: age characteristics of dengue patients is the most productive age group of 14-49 years, gender characteristics most DHF patients suffered by women, for characterizing platelet count majority declined <100.000/μl and increased hematocrit values> 20%. Regarding the characteristics of the residence DBD majority coming from the village. Advice for the hospital community health education should further improve the counseling is to increase knowledge about dengue, and for other researchers should be able to add variables such research leukocyte count, and immune system
