Effect of Skin Extract Mangosteen Plus Commercial Xamthone Against Decrease Blood Sugar Levels When Mice (Mus musculus L) Hyperglycemic. Supervising Commission, Chairman: dr. Adhiningsih Yulianti, Members: Ir. Heri Warsito, MP. Mangosteen peel is a waste of the fruit that grows in the tropics. Extract of the waste has many benefits that have been used for a variety of diseases, one of which is known as hyperglycemic or diabetes mellitus. Because in mangosteen peel extract xanthones are compounds that are anti-inflammatory and antioxidant active so that it can make the pancreas produce insulin again and normalize blood sugar. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of mangosteen peel extract in lowering blood sugar levels of mice. Research methodology using experimental methods pre and post test control group design with a sample of 25 mice were divided into 5 groups, each group consisted of 5 mice. I as a positive control group, group II as mangosteen peel extract treatment doses of 0.117 ml, 0.156 ml dose group III, group IV dose of 0.195 ml, and group V as a 0,013 mg dose of the drug treatment. The results are mangosteen peel extract dose of 0.156 ml and 0.195 ml doses may lower blood sugar levels significantly but not as effective as the drug glibenclamide.
