Abstract

Polyethylene Glycol (PEG 6000) using in seed osmoconditioning invigoration process before planting can repairs eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) seed viability. So eggplant seed that has experienced deterioration still can be planted and grow just like high viability eggplant seed. This research was held for 1 month, start from September October 2016 at Benih Citra Asia Co. Ltd. Green House, Ajung, Jember, East Java. This research used Complete Block Design with 2 factors and 5 replications. The first factor was early seed germination capacity that was consisted of 50%, 53%, 66%, 70%, 73%, 75%, 80% and 85%. The second factor was PEG 6000 concentration, that was consisted of PEG 6000 4%, PEG 6000 8% and PEG 6000 12%. The research result showed that early seed germination capacity gave very significant result (**) to final seed germination capacity and seed growth simultaneity. Early seed germination capacity and PEG 6000 concentration gave very significant (**) interaction to seed growth speed.
