Abstract
One effort to can be used to provide of String Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) Seed with high quality is by to storage in a proper way . This research was held on May-November 2016 at PT East West Seed Indonesia, Basuki Rahmat Streat alley SMPN 8 No. 19 Muktisari, Tegal Besar district Jember and MR Wahid Streat No. 89 Wirowongso. This research used factorial Randomized Complete Design (RCB) with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factors Storage Temperature (S) that was consisted of 2 levels, S1 = low temperature (19 ˚C - 21˚C and Rh 30% - 53%), S2 = fluctuating temperature (28 ˚C - 33˚C and Rh 63% - 87%). The second factor was store period (P) that was consisted of 13 levels, P0 = 0 weeks, P1 = 2 weeks, P2 = 4 weeks, P3 = 6 weeks, P4 = 8 weeks, P5 = 10 weeks, P6 = 12 weeks, P7 = 14 weeks, P8 = 16 weeks, P9 = 18 weeks, P10 = 20 weeks, P11 = 22 weeks, P12 = 24 weeks. The results of the reseach showed that Combination treatment (interraction) between temperature and store period had very significant effect to moisture content, germination percentage, seed germination speed, germination equality and maximum growth potential. The deterioration rate in fluctuating temperature storage occured more quickly with indication is decreasing viability and vigor of seeds is moisture content in 13% until 15%, germination percentage 54,44%,, seed germination speed 11,35%peretmal, germination equality 51,89%, and maximum growth potential 60,22%,
