Abstract

According to health regulation of Indonesia (Permenkes RI) in Kartono (2010), medical record retention is the sorting of medical record which is saved at least 5 years counted from the last date when the patient begin and end the treatment. Each health facility shall make meical records, made by doctors and health prpfesional are concerned. Must be made immediately and include each patient receives care, and must be stamped signature who provide sevices. Based on Ermilia (2012), retention which is done by sorting the documents one by one will be inefficient. In this case, the role of computer is strongly needed to create subsystem of medical record retention in order to help the officers in producing quick, accurate, and appropriate information. The aim of this study is designing an information system focusing on retention sub system. Wijaya Kusuma Hospital of Lumajang has been already computerized on its registration system; however, medical record retention is still done manually. Medical record documents that will get the retention are sorted one by one, so it needs longer time around a month. The research design of this study is qualitative. The subject of the study is the chief and the officers of medical record. The method used in this study is waterfall method and the study uses PHP and Mysql program. The data collection is done through interview, observation, documentation, and discussion. The result of this study is that the information system of medical record sub system is expected to help in easing the officers in doing document retention quickly and accurately then can reduce the workload of officers.
