Abstract

Table Manner has an important role in making first impression, especially on business meeting. Business people who had to hold a business meeting overseas will encounter some difficulties and feel nervous if they do not know about table manner because almost of business meeting is conducted over a course of meal. That was why business people who work internationally have to comprehend table manner knowledge. In order to learn table manner knowledge, sufficient material is needed. Video is the best media to learn table manner because video provides the viewers information about detailing gaze, posture, and gesture. Moreover, video is a malleable, durable, and shareable record.. The writer decided to make video of table manner as media to learn table manner knowledge. One of table manner knowledge is about the menu served on the table. This report described all of the process where the writer made table manner video for international business people with the concentration on menu knowledge. The writer visited some hotels and restaurants to get the actual data of table manner and then decided to conduct table manner event at Safari Hotel and Restaurant because Safari Hotel and Restaurant provides table manner product which is already well known among business people in Jember. After getting the record from the event, the writer edited the record into full video of table manner nicely. The writer edited the video by using Movie Maker and Adobe Audition. During the process of making video, the writer faced some problem since the writer is lacking in editing the video, but the writer tried hard to get the best result of the editing the video. As the result, the writer distributed the video to international business people through You Tube, the students of English Study Program, Politeknik Negeri Jember and Safari Hotel and Restaurant. Furthermore, the writer improved the English Writing skill and got new knowledge related with continental table manner and video editing.
