Abstract

The development of citrus cultivation in the district of Jember increased in 2010 until now tended to rise (2016) both land area and production, which in 2010 2,035,541 trees planted area, production 696 570 quintal, while in 2015 3,049,782 trees planted area, production 1,370,422 quintals (Ir. Kusmiaji, 2016). Increase productivity tangerine, government convince people of information to farmers by distributing books to centers of tangerine and occasionally hold a seminar on counseling tangerine cultivation. It is considered quite efficient and effective when there is new information to farmers. Lack of extension of special concern by the government. Thus making farmers who need the information must provide transportation costs and time to reach your local city office. Therefore needed an information system that can facilitate communication between farmers and the government as a source of technological information. In order to help the farmers to increase their production. Therefore built a Tangerine Aquaculture Extension Application-Based SMS Gateway in Jember.
