Abstract

Quality management is a crucial aspect in improving hospital service standards, especially amidst increasing demands and competition in the healthcare sector. The use of a webbased quality indicator reporting information system offers a strategic solution to enhance reporting effectiveness and accuracy. Initial surveys showed that the reporting process at Balung Regional Hospital was still conducted manually using Microsoft Excel, which posed risks of data damage and input errors across units. This study aims to develop a webbased quality indicator reporting system using the Prototype method. The method consists of several stages: Communication, where developers and stakeholders discuss general goals and initial (though vague) requirements to build a shared understanding of the system; Quick Plan, involving the creation of a project schedule and identification of development scope and technologies used; Modeling/Quick Design, which includes early design of the user interface, flowcharts, DFDs, and ERDs for visualizing the system; Construction of Prototype, where a simplified version of the system is built with key features such as indicator data input, reporting, and graphical visualization; and Deployment, Delivery & Feedback, where the prototype is deployed to a test server, delivered to users, and feedback is collected for improvement. The results show that the developed system successfully replaces the previous manual reporting process, minimizes input errors, and significantly improves the efficiency of quality indicator reporting.
