Abstract

The development of environmentally friendly vehicles has driven innovation in propulsion systems, including the conversion of conventional motorcycles into hybrid systems. This study aims to design and analyze the functionality of the throttle system in a hybrid motorcycle that integrates both conventional and electric propulsion. The main focus is on the performance and stability of the throttle in regulating vehicle speed under both drive modes. The research method includes literature review, design, prototyping, and testing based on time and distance parameters. The unit used is a 2008 Jupiter MX 135cc motorcycle, modified by adding a 3000W BLDC motor and a throttle system based on a hall effect sensor. The throttle system was designed using a throttle adapter that allows mechanical operation for both propulsion systems simultaneously. The test results show that the throttle system operates stably, with consistent throttle and controller voltage readings throughout the trials. The integration of the conventional and electric systems through a gas adapter and modified throttle cable proved successful. This research demonstrates that a hybrid throttle system can function effectively and may serve as a reference for the development of hybrid-based eco-friendly vehicles.
