Abstract

Indonesia is a fairly large sugar producing country. In the current era, many sugar cane seeding methods have been developed using single bud planting, namely bud sets, which is a method of propagating sugar cane seeds using one bud. In sugarcane breeding, you must pay attention to the use of planting media. A good planting medium is a medium that contains complete ingredients such as soil, organic material, water and air. The media used for sugarcane breeding are cow manure and goat manure. Apart from planting media, the use of fertilizer is also a determining factor in the success of the seeding process. To reduce damage caused by chemical fertilizers, it needs to be overcome by using cow waste into organic fertilizer which can be called cow urine POC. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of cow urine POC and planting media on the growth of sugarcane seedlings. This research was carried out on the grounds of the Jember State Polytechnic. The method used was a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with each factor consisting of 3 levels and repeated 3 times. The results showed that the application of POC cow urine gave non-significant results while the composition of various planting media gave significant results on sugar cane plants.
