Abstract
The development of information technology has affected almost every aspect of life, including in the field of education. Schools use the website as a means to expand the reach of information and interact with students, parents and the community. This paper discusses website design for SMP Negeri 2 Prajekan using a User Centered Design (UCD) approach, which aims to produce a better user experience that is relevant to user needs. The UCD method is used as the main approach in designing this website. The first step in UCD is understanding the needs and characteristics of users. Through surveys, interviews and direct observations, data about the preferences, expectations and challenges faced by users of the SMP Negeri 2 Prajekan website were obtained. This information becomes the basis for identifying the main goals of the website and the features it must have. Through the application of the User Centered Design method, it is hoped that the SMP Negeri 2 Prajekan website can provide a satisfying user experience and meet the needs of various users. This website is expected to be able to convey relevant information, facilitate communication between schools and users, and increase community participation in educational activities. Thus, the design of the SMP Negeri 2 Prajekan website using the UCD approach has the potential to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of education in the school.
