Abstract
Poultry farming, especially ducks, has great potential in fulfilling animal protein needs in Indonesia, both from meat and eggs. Seed quality is a factor that affects the success of the livestock business. A partner focusing on duck farming in Jember Regency is UD Putra Jember, located in Mojomulyo Village, Puger District, East Java. While hatching duck eggs at UD Putra Jember, there are problems with temperature and humidity that are affected by the outside environment and uneven distribution. As a result, many eggs in the incubator fail to hatch, so farmers experience losses. This study aims to design and build a 750-grain capacity duck egg incubator with the help of Fusion 360 software with the addition of insulating material, namely aluminum bubble foil on the inside of the incubator, to maintain temperature and humidity from the influence of the outside environment. The methods used in the design of the duck egg incubator include literature study, component determination, CAD design creation, design validation testing, and incubator assembly. The validation results show that the incubator design developed meets the “very feasible” category with an average score of 5.0 for validator 1 and 4.8 for validator 2. This indicates that the design that has been made is more optimal for use in the duck egg hatching process. This incubator design has the potential to be an innovative solution for farmers in improving hatching efficiency and success. Keywords: Egg incubator, Fusion 360, CAD design, Design validation
