Abstract
Vanname White Shrimp (Litopenaeus Vannamei) is a type of pond water shrimp that is often cultivated by coastal communities. There are various kinds of diseases that can attack vannamei shrimp. The limited knowledge of pond farmers and the absence of experts/veterinarians/extension workers caused the handling of shrimp that were attacked by the disease to be less fast and responsive. Based on these problems, a system was designed, namely the Expert System for Identification of Shrimp Diseases Using the Certainty Factor Method. The Certainty Factor method is a calculation method based on the level of trust in an expert. The purpose of this study is to provide solutions to the problem of shrimp disease identification, can provide more knowledge to shrimp farmers and make it easier to identify the types of diseases and symptoms of vannamei shrimp. Based on the results of the blackbox test, 100% of the results were obtained from 20 respondents, thus the expert system for disease identification in shrimp farming is in accordance with its functionality. Meanwhile, in the UAT test, the average result was 88%, and it was included in the category of strongly agreeing or acceptable to users.
