Abstract

Informed consent is approval for medical action given by the patient or the patient's family after receiving a complete explanation regarding the action to be carried out on the patient. The aim of this research is to determine the factors causing incompleteness in filling out informed consent at Mitra Sehat Situbondo Hospital according to Lawrence Green's theory. The type of research is qualitative with data collection from interviews, observation, documentation and brainstorming. The research subjects consisted of 3 obgyn doctors, 3 surgical nurses, 1 person in charge of medical records, 1 assembler. The object of this research is all informed consent for inpatient obstetric gynecological surgical procedures in October – November 2023. Data credibility through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of a preliminary study conducted by researchers found that there were still incomplete forms of filling out informed consent. The results of the analysis showed that it was incomplete because the officers (doctors, assembling) did not know the standards for completeness of informed consent and the officers (doctors, nurses) did not seem to understand the procedures for filling out the informed consent, the attitude of the officers (doctors, nurses) lacked responsibility and discipline in filling out the informed consent, no there are rewards for completing informed consent, the punishment applied is less than optimal. Suggestions that can be proposed are that ob-gyn specialist doctors increase their discipline and responsibility in filling out informed consent, implement a reward and punishment system, distribute SOPs, include completeness standards in the SOP, reviewing the contents of the SOP and disseminating the contents of the SOP
