Abstract
Chronic Kidney Disease (ICD X N18), is a progressive and irreversible condition characterized by a glomerular filtration rate of ≤60 ml/min for three months or more. Chronic kidney disease is one of the significant health issues in indonesia with 2,221 deaths reported in 2019. At Kaliwates General Hospital Jember, chronic kidney disease consistently ranked among the top 10 inpatient disease from 2020 to 2022, and was the second leading cause of death in 2022. This study aims to identify the factors contributing to the occurrence of chronic kidney disease, namely age, gender, family history, hipertension, diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular disease, based on the medical records of inpatients from October to December at Kaliwates General Hospital Jember. The research is quantitative analytic study with a case-control design using secondary data. The sample consists of 79 case of chronic kidney disease and 79 cases of urological disorder, selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis includes univariate and bivariate analyses using the chi-square test. The results show a relationship between chronic kidney disease and several factors, including age (p-value 0,005; OR 2,734), hypertension (p-value 0,001, OR 5,957), diabetes mellitus (p value 0,002; OR 6,946) and cardiovascular (p-value 0,003; OR 6,434). Thus, the factors contributing to chronic kidney disease at Kaliwates General Hospital Jember are age, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular disease. The hospital is expected to provide early education regarding the risk factors for chronic kidney disease, namely age ≥55 years, a history of hypertension, a history of diabetes mellitus, and history of cardiovascular disease, the the aim of enabling patients to take preventive measures to manage these risks.
