Abstract

Microhydro Power Plant (PLTMH) is a small-scale power plant that uses water as the main medium to drive a turbine and generator. The water comes from irrigation channels, dams, rivers, or natural waterfalls by utilizing the height of the fall and the amount of water discharge. This study aims to determine the methods and performance of the vertical unit 1 Francis turbine at the Sampean Baru Microhydro Power Plant. The research method used in this study involves understanding and studying the working mechanism of the vertical unit 1 Francis turbine at the Sampean Baru Microhydro Power Plant and analyzing the efficiency of the vertical unit 1 Francis turbine at the Sampean Baru Microhydro Power Plant over one year during 2023. The results of the study show that discharge, elevation, and head significantly affect the output power generated by the Sampean Baru Microhydro Power Plant. The higher the discharge and elevation, the greater the output power generated by the Sampean Baru Microhydro Power Plant, and vice versa, the lower the discharge and elevation, the smaller the output power generated by the Sampean Baru Microhydro Power Plant. The Sampean Baru Micro-Hydro Power Plant has a total efficiency value of 96%
