Abstract

This is the report of the final project entitled “Making A Booklet as Tourism Promotional Media of Glagah Banyuwangi”. The project was made due to Glagah district have many beautiful tourism objects such as; Osing Traditional Village Kemiren, Taman Suruh Recreational Park, Jagir Waterfall, Banyu Prosotan Kampung Anyar and Kalibendo Waterfall but they don’t have promotional media of these tourism objects in the form of booklet. In making this final project, the writer needs to collected data to complete this final project and the writer did interview, observation, documentation, and audiovisual material. Procedure of making booklet as promotional media was done by the writer as follows: determining the purpose of promotional media, determining the target audience, determining the promotional media, budgeting, making a concept and last step is producing the promotional media. The booklet entitled The Secret Paradise of Glagah Banyuwangi consisted of five parts. The first part was overview about history and establishment of Banyuwangi. The second part was Information about the location with maps and route explanation to Glagah Banyuwangi. In the third part, the writer explained the main content about five tourism places at Glagah Banyuwangi. The fourth part, the writer was input photo gallery of five tourism places at Glagah Banyuwangi. In the fifth part, the writer was added information about tourist information contact consist of emergency call, police, sar team, fire team, accommodation such as hotel, inn and restaurant. The writer took so much time, hard works, patience, and effort in finishing this booklet. The writer also found some difficulties and challenges. The writer found a problem when making script of the booklet and designing the layout of booklet. The writer needed to learn about how to write a good script for the booklet. The problems are difficulties of choosing a correct diction and grammar that would be used in the sentences. The writer confused in using grammar. Therefore, the writer should think hard and need to study more to choose the best diction and the use of grammar for the script. Besides that, the writer does not have a good skill in editing. She needed to ask an editor to finish her project. It is not very effective, because sometimes the result of booklet’s design is not same with the writer’s plan and expectation. This project gives some benefits for the writer. The writer improved her skill in writing the script of booklet.
