Abstract

Cucumber in Indonesia is a popular vegetable and is loved by all people. Cucumber productivity (tons/ha) in Indonesia from 2020 to 2022. This is caused by Less intensive and efficient cultivation of cucumbers is one alternative that can be done what is done is the ethephon application. The aim of this research is to determine the impact concentration and frequency of ethephon application on production and quality cucumber seeds. The design used was a Randomized Block Design with 2 factors, ethephon concentration (75, 150 and 225 ppm) and frequency application (1x, 2x and 3x times). Data were analyzed with Anova and tested with the DMRT test with an error rate of 5% and 1%. The results showed that the interaction of 75 ppm ethephon concentration and 3x application frequency of ethephon (K1F3) showed the best effect on the number of female flowers (18.73 florets), the number of male flowers (12.26), and the ratio of female:male flowers (1.84 ) number of fruits (5.66), number of seeds (550.40), seed weight (16.68 g), seed production per hectare (400.40 kg), growth simultaneity (78.33%).
