Abstract

The recording of infection prevention and control surveillance data at RSD Balung is still manual using Microsoft Excel. The data entered in Microsoft Excel does not contain all data on the surveillance medical record sheet, for urine catheter insertion data is 31%, IV catheter insertion is 15%, and surgical area infection is 35%. The lack of available data makes it difficult for officers to evaluate surveillance activities. Another problem with recording in Microsoft Excel is the processing of old data, resulting in delays in reporting the incidence of infection. The purpose of this study was to design and manufacture a web- based infection prevention and control information system at RSD Balung. Data collection methods in this study were interviews, observation, and brainstorming. The method used in making information systems is the waterfall method. The result of this research is a surveillance information system that can automatically recap the infection incidence data, as well as a system that contains all existing data on the surveillance medical record form, so that this information system can make it easier for officers to evaluate and report. The advantages of this system are the dashboard menu that can find out the number of infection occurrences in each room and the polyclinic every day, monitoring of infection in the operating area to outpatient control, and the resulting report that can display a graph of the number of infection occurrences automatically.
