Abstract

Cooking is not an easy task for some people due to lack of experience, limited ingredients, and minimal cooking tools. Vegetables, meat, and fruits spoil quickly, potentially becoming food waste with negative environmental consequences. This research develops an Android-based recipe recommendation and computer vision application using the YOLOv8 and Simple Additive Weighting methods. User Acceptance Test (UAT) results show 88.038%, indicating that the application can detect objects and provide recipes suitable for the user's situation. YOLOv8 test result in mAP50 0.915. This application aims to facilitate people in finding recipes that suit their current circumstances.
