Abstract

Exams are a form of evaluation that is often used in the world of education. Generally, the implementation of exams is carried out in a written way, but along with technological developments, exams can be done online using the e-learning system. With the e-learning system students can know directly the results or values obtained. Its function is limited to multiple choice questions only, it does not apply to essays or descriptions. Based on these problems, the author will create an e�learning system that can correct essay answers automatically. The author uses the GLSA algorithm combined with a thesaurus dictionary to process the answers of the examinees and Lavenshtein Disctance to correct typing errors. The results displayed by the system are the scores of the quizzes that have been completed. After testing the blackbox, the results show that the system can run according to the expected scenario. And the comparison between the corrections made by the teacher and the test takers, the results have the same 79.50%
