Abstract

Kenikir (Cosmos sulphureus Cav.) is one of the vegetables with high economic value and has the potential to be developed further. At this time the need for vegetables increases along with the increase in population, so the availability of vegetables in the market is needed in order to meet the needs of the community. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of interaction between nitrogen fertilizer dose and plant spacing on kenikir seed production. This research was conducted from August to December 2022 in Tegalwaru Village, Mayang Subdistrict, Jember. The experimental design used was Factorial Randomized Group Design (RGD) which was repeated 3 times. The first factor is the dose of nitrogen fertilizer, namely 60 kg/ha (N1), 90 kg/ha (N2), 120 kg/ha (N3). The second factor is the planting distance, which is 50 x 30 cm (T1), 50 cm x 40 cm (T2), 50 x 50 cm (T3). The data were analyzed using Anova and followed by DMRT test at 5%, if it showed significantly different results. The results showed that the interaction between the dose of nitrogen fertilizer 120 kg/ha and spacing 50 x 50 cm gave a significantly different effect on stem diameter (7.39 mm).
