Abstract

Home Industry "Putri Ayu" is a home-based business that produces banana chips since 2008. The problem that exists in this home industry is the application of raw material inventory control that is not optimal, causing an impact on consumers. The purpose of this study is to 1) analyze and identify the calculation of raw material inventory control using the method in the home industry, 2) analyze and identify the calculation of raw material inventory in the home industry using the EOQ method, 3) compare inventory costs between the two methods. The results of the calculation obtained the optimal ordering quantity of raw materials as many as 25 bunches with an order frequency of 8 times, safety stock that must be available in the warehouse of 34 bunches with a reorder point (ROP) of 39 bunches. The use of the EOQ method can minimize the total inventory costs that must be incurred by the owner.
