Abstract

The scarcity of inorganic fertilizers has encouraged Indonesian corn farmers to use AB-Mix fertilizer as an alternative fertilizer. However, the use of AB-Mix fertilizer in corn production certainly needs to be studied further. The purpose of this study was to examine the use of AB-Mix and NPK fertilizers on the growth and production of corn plants. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) where AB-Mix fertilizer (0.3 g/plant, 0.26 g/plant, and 0.2 g/plant) and NPK (0.26 g/plant, 0.2 g/plant, and 0.13 g/plant) were used as treatments. The results showed that the AB-Mix fertilizer treatment showed significant differences in wet cob weight, dry cob weight, and cob length where an AB-Mix dose of 0.3 g/plant showed the best results. In general, all NPK levels showed no significant differences in all observation variables. It can be concluded that AB-Mix fertilizer has a positive effect on the growth and production of corn.
