Abstract

A production process is highly dependent on the technology used by the company to produce quality products. One of the efforts that can be made by the industry is to improve the right machine maintenance scheduling policy. It is important for the industry to be able to care for and maintain the machines used to minimize repair costs and the risk of damage to the machine (Breakdown) which can result in downtime. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimal maintenance policy and machine maintenance costs using repair maintenance and preventive maintenance methods. The repair policy method and preventive maintenance policy are suitable to be applied in this problem, because the method is a well-planned program and can be used in making the right decision. The comparison of repair cost and preventive maintenance cost is for repair policy of Rp 657,285. While the preventive maintenance policy is Rp 498,279. The proposed maintenance policy for the sieve machine is a preventive policy to be applied for damage (every 9 months).
