Abstract

Mango is a plant that is widely grown by Indonesian people and is a type of fruit that has high production value, but over time these plants are attacked by many pests and diseases due to a lack of public knowledge about mango plant care, so many fruits are of low quality. An expert system is a system that seeks to adopt human abilities or knowledge into a computer, so that the computer can work in solving a problem like an expert in a particular field. One of them is to diagnose pests and diseases that attack mango plants. In this research, an expert application was made to help the community in diagnosing pests and diseases that attack mango plants, using the forward chaining method. So that with this application the user can choose the symptoms experienced then will get a diagnosis in the form of types information on which pests and diseases the user attacks the mango plant, along with the correct way of controlling it. The results of this system research show the same decisions or calculations as manual calculations.
