Abstract

This is the report of the final project entitled “Making a Booklet as a Prototype of Jember Gadget Museum.” The booklet’s title is “Jember Gadget Museum.” The aim of this final project was to provide complete information about the idea of Jember Gadget Museum. Based on the preliminary study, the writer finds many young generations do not know that the early generations of computers used to require a lot of cables and ample space to operate until now can be carried everywhere like laptops. Also, the performance of their computers is faster than the early generations. This statement is based on a survey conducted with about 50 people; 70% do not know the history of mobile phones and laptops/computers. To finish this final project, the writer used three steps of making a booklet. Those steps are analyze, design, and develop. In making a booklet, the writer prepared hardware and software requirements, wrote a script in English, and made a concept design. The writer designed the booklet by himself with his skills in editing. After the booklet design was finished, the writer printed the booklet in A5 paper size (21 cm x 14,8 cm). The writer faced some challenges while editing the museum design because the writer did not have the skill to make the 3D design. So, the writer had to learn it by himself before designing the museum. There is no reference to making a prototype booklet. So, the writer felt confused while doing this final project. In this final project, the writer got some advantages. He could improve his writing and translation skills to make the booklet's contents and final report. The writer learned how to use 3D software design such as Sketchup while designing the museum. On the other hand, the writer also learned how to choose terms and write with correct grammar. Hopefully, the product can be used optimally to give the readers detailed information about Jember Gadget Museum.
