Abstract

Shrinkage and destruction have been carried out at the Pandian Health Center, but the implementation is not in accordance with the Ministry of Health (2006) where inactive medical records are not stored in a separate shelf or room specifically for inactive medical records and do not use microfilm of inactive medical records that have use value. The research objective was to analyze the causes of problems in the implementation of depreciation and destruction of inactive medical records at the Pandian Health Center based on the 7M management elements. This type of research is qualitative research. Prioritize problems using USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) and recommendations for resolution. The research subjects were 1 medical record head and 3 medical record officers. Collecting data using interviews, observation and documentation. The research instruments are interview guidelines, observation guidelines, documentation guidelines and USG guidelines. Data validity uses technique and source triangulation. Data analysis uses data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of research on depreciation problems are manpower (educational qualifications are not up to standard and officers have never attended training and seminars), machine (no scanner), method (no depreciation SOP), material (no list of descriptions, media (no schedule available) retention, shelf and inactive space), money (unavailability of a depreciation fund budget).Results of research on problems with destruction, namely manpower (educational qualifications are not according to standards and officers have never attended training and seminars), machine (no destruction equipment), method ( no SOP for destruction), materials (no minutes of destruction) and money (no budget for destruction). expected to make SOP depreciation and destruction
